Letter to the Editor: The late Ralph Hall, who died last month, represented Kilgore and East Texas for twenty-two years in the U. S. House of Representatives. Kilgore could not have been better served. Regardless of party affiliation or geographic location he dedicated his life’s work to both the rural environs of East Texas and the burgeoning metroplex of his Rockwall hometown. more

I enjoyed Bill Woodall’s column in the ETC magazine last week. His talk of singing from the hymnal reminded me of something I remember from early childhood. I was too young to read the hymnal, so I tried to sing along with the adults aping their words. I was sing “What a fight to dread, what a fight to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms.” more
