It’s not too late for students to enroll in classes for the spring semester at Kilgore College. KC will hold late registration for the spring semester Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 7-8, on both the Kilgore and Longview campuses. Late registration will be held 1 to 6 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the Devall Student Center on the Kilgore campus and in the Hendrix Building at KC-Longview. more
A pedestrian was struck crossing U.S. Hwy. 259 Friday evening in the second such incident in as many weeks on that stretch of road. The victim – 52-year-old Michael Wallace of Long Branch – is in treatment at area hospitals. more
A tragedy in Kilgore is the inspiration for a statewide effort to protect Texas students and possibly save lives. In Dec. 2016, Kilgore High student Sam Watkins died after suffering a seizure and falling into a coma. Following her death, former East Texas teacher Shari Dudo has been hard at work to convince the Texas legislature to pass a law requiring all schools in the state to require seizure care training for faculty and staff members. more
