If it seems like Kilgore College’s Region XIV Conference schedule has been a push, it pretty much has, so far, and they hope to change that – for the better – in four games this weekend. The Rangers have been almost even – they’ve split every series they’ve played (winning one and losing one) except a series against Tyler Junior College, one of which they lost both ends. Coach Leslie Messina’s Rangers are exactly 14-14 on the season and 4-6 in conference play. more

Apparently, a four-run loss to Kilgore at Driller Park earlier in the week was a motivating factor for Spring Hill, who punched back on Friday night with an 11-4 win over Kilgore's Diamond 'Dogs. more
After about a week off, Kilgore High School baseball jumped back into action with arguably their biggest game of the 2019 season to date, and the Diamond ‘Dogs were up to the challenge Tuesday night at tradition-rich Driller Park. Kilgore shut down a vaunted Spring Hill team, 5-1, in a statement game: the Bulldogs had won the district championship the last two years in going for over 25 wins in each, and Spring Hill is supposed to make a push for that title this year. more
One of Kilgore High School’s oldest institutions is hosting a fundraiser next weekend, at another Kilgore institution. The Hi-Steppers – the high school’s dance and performance team that, like the Kilgore College Rangers, was created by Gussie Nell Davis – is hosting one of the group’s largest fundraisers of the year next Saturday, April 6, at Meadowbrook Golf and Event Center – a course that dates back to the 1930s, with some of the richest golfing tradition in East Texas. more
