Services for Amy Clements, 63, of Liberty City will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 18, at First Baptist Church of Kilgore with Reverend Dudley Plaisance and Pastor Efrain Cirilo officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum.
Amy was born October 20, 1954 in Fort Worth to George and Dorothy Haney. She attended public schools in Beaumont and was a member of the 1973 graduating class of Houston’s Westchester High School. Amy enrolled in Kilgore College where she met the love of her life, Mike Clements.
Amy wanted to be a mother from a young age and when God gave them Michael she was an over achiever in being a mom. Mrs. Clements loved helping others, especially children. She was not only a mom to Michael, but to anyone who needed anything. Amy loved animals and particularly her dogs Lucy and Iris. Mrs. Clements was a prayer filled Godly woman. She and her family were members of Crosspoint Fellowship Church of Kilgore.
Mrs. Clements is survived by her husband of 43 years, Mike Clements of Liberty City; her son, Michael Clements Jr. and his wife Katelyn of Longview; three sisters, Dr. Cynthia Jordan of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Cheryl Senter of Houston, Robyn Pledger of Santa Fe, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Chatham Haney Jr.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between 6-8 p.m. After Amy was diagnosed with cancer, God raised her philanthropic awareness to a higher level. Please honor her spirit by considering memorial contributions to House of Hope of Longview, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Rahab’s Retreat of Kilgore, Pink Heals, of Gregg County.
