Bob R. Hodges went to be with his Lord and Savior May 10, 2018, at the age of 80, passing peacefully at his home in Kilgore with his family at his bedside. He was born April 28, 1938 in Dardanelle, Ark., to parents Ray Oliver Hodges and Edna Welcher Hodges.
He is survived by Wanda Thomas Hodges, his wife of 50 years, who was the Love of his life until their three kids, Brent, Jill, and Jamie, came along. They were added to the loves of his life, then their three spouses, Steven Wright, Larry Quinlan, and Amanda Hodges came along, and they were added to the loves of his life. Then the eight grandkids, Ali, Connor, Ashlyn, Amber, Samuel, Riley, Sydney, and Roman, came along and they definitely were added to the loves of his life. All were so very, very special to him. The grandkids called him Dado.
He was a very-very God loving man and always would tell us all to keep God first in our lives. He loved God with all of his heart and was our Kind, Gentle Giant!! He was such a precious, fun loving man, always encouraging each of us in his very special way!
He graduated from Ola, Arkansas High School; attended Arkansas Tech, Russellville, Ark.; graduated Southwestern Assembly of God Bible College, Waxahachie; graduated Oklahoma State University in Pedorthie Footwear.
Other survivors include one brother, Gene Hodges of North Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Patricia Wright of Cottonwood, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his father, Ray Oliver Hodges, a WWII veteran; his mother, Edna Welcher Hodges; brother, Bill Bratcher; sister, Betty Hodges Rodriquez; brother, Robert Wayne Hodges.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Reverend Riley Pippen officiating. Burial will follow at the Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-7:30 p.m.
