Memorial services for Carole Penshorn, 75, of Leverett’s Chapel will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, at Laird Hill Baptist Church, 12392 CR 172a, Laird Hill. Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Penshorn was born June 30, 1945 and passed away quietly on September 5, 2018.
She was born in Kilgore and lived most of her life here. She graduated from Leverett’s Chapel High School, and she briefly attended Kilgore College.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ferol Hollowell; her step-father, Ralph Phillips; and her sister, Frances Hollowell.
She was known for being an excellent cook and owner/operator of the “Kolache Kitchen” restaurant in Kilgore. She was always a fun-loving and cheerful person to be around. Everybody that knew her loved her. She dearly loved her daughter and her family and the people of Laird Hill Baptist Church where she enjoyed preparing meals for special occasions.
Mrs. Penshorn is survived by her daughter, Mechelle Clevenger and husband Carl of Leverett’s Chapel; two grandsons, Brandon Clevenger and wife Lauren and their children Kaelynn and Autumn of Sugerland, and Kyle Clevenger and wife Virginia and the expected arrival of Christopher Lee of Leverett’s Chapel; one sister, Ferol Stanley Whitfield of Kilgore; two brothers, Larry Hollowell and wife Rhee of Tyler and Morris Hollowell and wife Deborah of Kilgore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be missed.
