Small business owners looking for insight into new tax laws can still secure a spot at next week’s BizConnect Luncheon at Meadowbrook Golf & Event Center.
Hosted quarterly by the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce, seats at the luncheons cost $20 per chamber member or $25 for non-members. Registration has been extended through the event (space permitting), set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, in the ballroom at 1306 Houston St.
This quarter’s luncheon features a University of Texas at Tyler accounting specialist: Dr. Roger Lirely is chair of Department of Accounting, Finance and Business Law there and has been a professor of Accounting in the College of Business & Technology since 2010.
Lirely’s tax law topics Tuesday include:
• Limit on interest deduction;
• Deductability of business entertainment expenses;
• Temporary 100 percent expensing of certain business assets and modifications to expensing of automobiles and other personal-use property.
For more information or to reserve a spot at the March 20 luncheon, contact the chamber at 903-984-5022 or register online at KilgoreChamber.com. Reservations can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
