Charles Newton Baucom died July 3, 2018 at the age of 86. Services in his memory will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with Rev. Michael “Big Mike” Heron and Rev. Daniel Ledford officiating. The interment will follow at Danville Cemetery.
Charles was born on March 5, 1932 in Kaufman to Gladys and Roy Baucom. On December 4, 1953, he married Frances Allene Spruill, and together they enjoyed 55 years of marriage and raised three daughters.
Mr. Charlie spent over 50 years in the crude oil industry. For the last 30 years of his career, he was employed by Eastex Crude Company in Leesburg.
Mr. Baucom was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gladys Baucom; his wife, Allene Baucom; daughter, Glenda Beth Hileman; his brother, John Baucom; and one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in law, Pamela Kay Heron and Mike of Splendora and Rebecca Charline Shelton and Steve of Tomball; and Ken Hileman of Pflugerville. He was a loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his three brothers, Roy, Eugene and Marvin, and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as a loving family and many friends.
Charles was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Donations in his memory may be made to Bible Baptist Church, 2105 Wilson Road, Humble, Texas, 77396.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Derek Shelton, Matt Heron, Drew Heron, Kenny Hileman, Chris Turrentine and Charles Hileman.
