Funeral services for Clarence Mayfield, 68, of Kilgore will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, in the Victory Funeral Services Chapel, with Brother Rodney Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Victory Funeral Services.
Clarence was born to Epsie and Eunice Bell Redd Mayfield in Kilgore on Friday, September 7, 1950, and he died Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Longview Regional Hospital.
He was an active member of Calvary Christian Tabernacle in Longview.
His education was garnered in the public schools of Starr Bailey and Leverett’s Chapel school districts. He acquired his high school diploma after joining the Job Corp. For many years he and his sister owned their own pulp wood tree logging company. He also was employed by Hill Bothers Oil Field Company and did roofing work over the years.
His parents, brother Calvin Mayfield and sisters Dorothy Jean Howard and Dorothy Marie Howard all preceded him in death.
He remains in the hearts of his wife, Diane Mayfield of Longview; daughters, Susie Leatch and Sannaa Williams of Longview; sister, Betty Mayfield of Longview; step-sisters, Sheiry Palm and Diane Palm; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
