KILGORE SENIOR CITIZENS club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the Lions Club Building at 307 Rusk St. All seniors 55 or older are eligible for membership.

THE PRIMETIMERS, a senior adult choir of First Baptist Church of Kilgore, invites any senior adult who wants to sing Christian songs and enjoy fellowship, to join them on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. in the choir room, located at the back of the church. Local author and veteran Leonard Reese will be the guest speaker for Book Talk,12 Noon, October 16, at McMillan Memorial Library in Overton. Mr. Reese will discuss his book, "The Nam Within," a narrative non-fiction memoir that speaks to veterans and others who deal with PTSD and depression. Reese makes his home in the country outside of the small East Texas town of Tatum. He taught English and History and drove a school bus at Tatum ISD for 35 years. .A light lunch will be served and the public is invited. BOOK TALK is a monthly event held at McMillan Memorial Library, 401 South Commerce Street, Overton, and is sponsored by the Friends of McMillan Memorial Library.
