KILGORE SENIOR CITIZENS club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the Lions Club Building at 307 Rusk St. All seniors 55 or older are eligible for membership.


THE PRIMETIMERS, a senior adult choir of First Baptist Church of Kilgore, invites any senior adult who wants to sing Christian songs and enjoy fellowship, to join them on Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. in the choir room, located at the back of the church. Kilgore Church Women will have their quarterly meeting Friday, Oct. 26 at First Presbyterian Church. The covered-dish luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. All women and denominations are welcome.

THE ANNUAL SOUP & PIE LUNCHEON at St. Luke's United Methodist Church will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 in the Family Center. The church is located at 401 E. Main St. All are welcome.


Four Kilgore ministers will debate the question “Why church?” in a 3 p.m. religious symposium Sunday in Kilgore College’s Devall Student Center Ballroom. The fifth annual event features Dr. Glenn Young, Rev. Ben Bagley, Rev. Jayson Galler and Rev. Will Wilson in a keynote, dialogue and Q&A moderated by KC’s Terry Booker. Actor Anthony Lawton will present his one-man stage adaptation of “The Great Divorce” by C.S. Lewis in a two-night run Oct. 26-27 in the Texan Theater.
