David L. Elliott

A Celebration of Life and Love for David L. Elliott will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, at Highland Park Assembly of God Church in Kilgore with Rev. Ron Strait officiating. A time of remembrance and fellowship will follow the service. Mr. Elliott completed his earthly journey and long battle with kidney disease on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the arms of his true love at his home in Kilgore.

David was born on July 8, 1949, in Dallas to L. Lynn and Jayne Elliott. He dutifully and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University. David worked in the automotive sales industry until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and he won numerous golf tournaments and hit many “holes in one.” He enjoyed fishing, boating, collecting guns, fast cars and motorcycles. A lifelong supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, a staunch supporter of the “Grand Old Party” and a Lifetime Member of the NRA were a source of pride for him.

He married the absolute love of his life on April 11, 1992, Wyvette, and they spent the next 25 years making many loving and happy memories together. Theirs was a love to rival all other earthly loves. His family, especially his grandchildren who called him Papa, was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest. David loved his family and friends deeply and passionately. His passing has left a great void and he will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he has touched.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Wyvette of Kilgore; children, Christopher Elliott and wife Christina of Mesquite, Debbie Elliott Wilkinson and husband Jeff of Rockwall, Casey Elliott and wife Jennifer of Garland; grandchildren, Paige, Cameron, Seth, Jessica, Hailey, Steely, Allison, Abby, Julia, Addison, Chance; great-grandchild, Devin; brother, Dean Elliott and his furbaby Alice. Also left to carry on his legacy are numerous, nieces, nephews, friends and many other loving family members.

David was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother Mark Elliott and a son Shaun Thompson.
