Services will be conducted for Don Murch, 84, of Kilgore on Friday, March 16, at The Little Chapel by The Lake at Colonial Gardens Cemetery, Marshall, at 10 a.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor James Henderson of East View Baptist Church of Kilgore where Mr. Murch was a Deacon. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Colonial Gardens. Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Murch entered into rest on Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Longview after a lengthy illness. He was born in Perry, Okla., on August 28, 1933. He married the love of his life, Peggy Ann Hoggart Murch, on December 22, 1951. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army; he was honorably discharged in 1962. Mr. Murch retired from the Oil and Gas Industry as a consultant. In his retirement, he was an advocate for animals and a supporter of veterans and Native Americans.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Ann; his parents, William B. and Rita Ann Knori Murch; daughter, Joyce Annette Murch Thornhill; one brother, Bill O. Murch and wife Helen, and one sister, Margaret Ann Fisher.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Murch and husband Brian Aldsworth; one son, William “Bill” David Murch and wife Denise; one niece, Debbie Fisher; two nephews, Dan Fisher and David Murch; brother-in-law, Pete Fisher; son-in-law, Sam Thornhill; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his companion dog, Lizzy, and a host of friends.
