Edward Scott Jr.

A Homegoing Celebration for Pastor Edward “Eddie” Scott, Jr., 62, of Liberty City will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 3pm in the sanctuary of Still Waters Worship Center in Liberty City. Private family interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 until 8 in the evening.

Eddie was born on July 10, 1956, in Lubbock to Edward C. Scott Sr. and Yvonne Scott. He graduated from Kilgore High School and attended ETBU. He worked as a mechanic until his retirement in 2015

Eddie had a heart for worship and he pastored Still Waters Worship Center in Liberty City. Before pastoring he led praise and worship for 19 years at Church On the Rock in Kilgore. Being an avid guitarist, music was a very important part of his ministry. He loved to go bass fishing and listening to contemporary Christian music. Eddie’s family, especially his grandbabies, was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Scott of Liberty City; children, Bridget Scott of Liberty City, Wesley Scott of Dallas, Tasha Cain and her husband Jeremy of Liberty City, Bryan Scott and his wife Kandice of Hallsville; grandchildren, Amity Henry, Symantha Scott, Landon Davis, Christopher James “C.J.” Scott, Aniah Cain and Bailey Scott; sister, Peggy Womack of Kilgore, and mother-in-law, Nadine Thompson of Snyder, Okla. Also left to carry on his legacy are numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, church members, friends, and other loving family members.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents.
