Services at the graveside for Gerald Wayne Quarles, 79, of Kilgore were held Tuesday, December 4, in the Danville Cemetery. Gerald completed his earthly journey on Friday, November 30, 2018, in Tyler.
Gerald was born January 18, 1939 in Daingerfield to James Riley Quarles and Annie Lou Harrison Quarles. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Mary Virginia Tomberlain. Gerald worked at Service Master for many years before retiring there. Later in life, he taught himself to play the guitar and the keyboard. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Virginia Quarles of Kilgore; children, Rhonda Cates (Dwight) of Como, Colo., Terry Anne Griffin (Gary) of Seligman, Mo., Peggy Harsey (Lyston) of Pasadena, Thomas Boughner of Kilgore, and Jerri Lynn McDonald (Curtis) of Weatherford; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of family members and friends whom he loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Gerald’s honor to a charity of your choice.
