Jenn Ford releases second single on Texas Country Records

“You Don’t Have To Stay” features Darrin Morris, hits home with military families

Texas Country Records announced today that Country Music artist Jenn Ford’s newest single, “You Don’t Have To Stay” was released today.

The single, which is the second on Texas Country Records, is a heartfelt ballad written by Jenn Ford and featuring popular Texas Country Music Artist Darrin Morris. Like the artist’s first single, “Baby Get Your Boots On,” also written by Ford, “You Don’t Have To Stay” along with 4 other self-penned songs, was recorded at the historic KSIJ Studios remodeled and reopened in January 2018 by popular Producer Chad Mauldin, who also produced the album. Executive Producer on the album is B. J. Mezek of B&G Music. KSIJ Studios, located in Gladewater, Texas, was one of the premier recording studios of years ago and spawned recordings from Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and a host of others.

About the single, Jenn says, “The response of industry professionals, media, friends and family has been overwhelming.” As a result, the decision was made to release it as her second single and release the entire self-titled EP afterward.”

The story tells about the struggle of wife who is adjusting to her husband returning home from military duty. The song concludes with them pushing through the emotional turmoil and reaching out to each other, and hopefully results in a happy ending.” She goes on, “It’s a slow country waltz, so it is supposed to be danced to. It's a very vulnerable song -- a painful reality of what so many of us go through when we come back home to reunite with the people that love us.”

Ford says that the reason she wrote it from the perspective of a wife, is because she had been both a soldier and a wife. “I think more of my friends would benefit from me talking about it from the side that has the most trouble understanding the changes that come with trauma.” She says.

Good friend and popular Texas Country Artist in his own right, Darrin Morris is featured on the single and, along with Jenn, comes through with powerful and passionate vocals that capture listeners as they paint a picture of the military homecoming problems that affect so many.

“It’s a very vulnerable song, and one that’s close to my heart,” says Ford who is an 11-year Army veteran.

Jenn has spent the last few years in a major role with the Texas Country Music Association, hosting the 2017 Texas Country Music Awards with Brandon Rhyder. The team will be back for the 2018 Texas Country Music Awards on October 15 at the Will Rogers Auditorium in Fort Worth. She continues to work to promote the Texas Country Music Association and is passionate about helping other artists and venues as well.

Her entertaining ability is second to none, with intense crowd engagement and a style that keeps fans wanting more. She performs acoustically or with her full band. Her shows are a must-see. For booking information, visit her website,, or
