Services for Jimmy Rodgers, 75, of Leverett’s Chapel will be 3 p.m. Saturday August 12, 2017 at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Overton Cemetery. Mr. Rodgers passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at his home.
He was born June 26, 1942 in Gorman, Texas, to Roy and Mary Irma Rodgers. Jimmy attended Kilgore College. He owned and operated an oil company in Odessa before establishing Jim’s Rental Service (JRS) of Kilgore.
Jimmy developed JRS into a nationwide oilfield rental service company, with a focus on the Permiam Basin, the Haynesville Shale and the Woodbine. Jimmy considered himself as “Old School Oil Field” and was very respected in the petroleum industry. He was a true philanthropist always helping those who needed it. Jimmy loved his Hot Rod Cars.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife, Tammy Rodgers of Leverett’s Chapel; four sons, Keith and his wife Mary Jane Rodgers of Odessa, Steve and his wife Jodie Rodgers of El Paso, Paul and his wife Heather Mapes of Midland, James Roy and his wife Sydney Rodgers of Leverett’s Chapel; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening between 6-7:30 p.m.
