KBBA teams start tournaments


The summer is officially under way now for all-star teams from the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association.

Both of the KBBA’s T-ball all-star squads are playing this weekend in the Dixie Youth Baseball district tournament in Henderson, and the Red all-stars have gotten off to a good start. They defeated the host team, Henderson, 21-9, on Friday morning.

The Red all-stars are coached by J Edmonson, and they are (in alphabetical order) Jaylon Clay, Kendrick Ector, Reed Edmonson, Ryder Edmonson, Chase Foster, Brick Hampton, Hudson Harris, Nicholas Hosak, Kaden Laza, Ian Meadows, Case Pieper, and Jakavian Snow.

They’ll continue the tournament today at 10 a.m. It’s a double-elimination tournament.

Also in it is the KBBA’s White T-ball all-stars, who were to play Bullard Blue on Friday afternoon. The White all-stars this year are Mason Brandt, Bryce Colbert, Blayne Conway, Jeran Griffin, Grayson Jones, Luke McKinney, Cruz Moore, Jackson Morgan, Adriam Mumphries, Jayden Seals, Cooper Shelton, and Benson Stagner. T.J. Brandt is their coach.

That age group’s state tournament will be in Center on July 1-3.

Kilgore is hosting a 7-8 year-old coach pitch tournament this weekend, but no KBBA teams are in it – both of Kilgore’s KBBA 7-8 year-old teams are in the machine pitch state tournament, also in Center, the same weekend (July 1-3).

There are two KBBA 7-8 all-star teams, as well. The 7-8 Red all-stars this year are Blade Chitwood, Kaeson Clayton, Daniel Garcia, Jaxon Herrin, Braddox Johnson, Mikel Ligon, David McGowan, Brayden Moody, Axel Sipes, Kellen Smith, Devin Tinney, and Rayshaun Williams. Their coach is Kelsey Clayton.

Adam Moore coaches the 7-8 White all stars: Carsyn Bailey, Gunnar Barnhart, Kaysin Brandt, Amden Evans, Jamylon Franklin, Champ Monaghan, Carter Moore, Mavrix Rivers, Keion Sanders, Gavin Wall, Chase Wilcox, and Maddox Wright.

A majority of tournaments are next weekend, June 23-25.

The 9-and-10 year-old division, will be here at the KBBA parks. Kilgore will have two teams in that tournament, as well.

The KBBA 9-10 year-old Red all-stars this time out are Colt Barnhart, Carsyn Bynum, Damarion Brown, Colt Bullard, Aiden Domorad, Kason Henry, J.T. Mercer, Jordan Pierce, Jacory Walton, Jaxon Warner, Brayden Williams and Chris Williams. Their coach is Derek Domorad.

This year’s 9-10 White all-stars this year are Eduardo Espinosa, Zack Green, Brayden Hargrove, Chris Meadows, Coye Kennedy, Kash Parham, Jaxon Rich, Dre Sanders, Haygan Schmidt, Cole Steel, Rance Tuck, and Isaiah Watters. Howard Green is their coach.

The 11-and-12 year-old all-stars will play their tournament in Henderson, and it’s also next weekend, June 23-25. The all-stars, coached by Colton Stevenson, are Grayson Boyd, DaQuincy Brown, Raymond Espinosa, Colby Grimes, Dylan Harris, Randal Hogue, Kaleb Kelley, Trent Lopez, Jason Silvey, Kai Tucker, Ethan Vasquez, and Derrick Williams.

Also that weekend in Henderson is the 13-14 year-old all-stars’ tournament. KBBA’s all-stars for that age group are Donovan Adkins, Alexis Chavez, Jose Espinosa, Sean Howell, Bryce Long, Zack Porter, Izaiah Ramirez, Dominik Shipman, Israel Vasquez, Brayden West, Wyatt Wilkerson, and Ezekial Williams. Their coach is Kevin Tinney.
