KBBA's 9-U, 10-U, 12-U teams all in action this weekend

Summer in Kilgore means all-star baseball play, and while some tournaments are over, this weekend is actually pretty busy for several teams.

And one all-star team has already qualified for its age group’s state tournament.

The 14-and-under KBBA all-star team had its district tournament already, and will play in their age division’s Dixie Youth Baseball state tournament in Center, beginning July 14.

Jonathan Cox coaches the 14-U team, assisted by Thomas Wilkerson and Jason Harrison. The 14-U all-stars this year are De’Quincy Brown, Cason Cox, Raymond Espinoza, Jace Scott Eubanks, Cooper Harrison, Kain Hogue, Trent Lopez, Gage Nichols, Jared Rich, Brendon Shannnon, Brayden West, and Colby Wilkerson.

The 9-and-under, 10-and-under and 12-and-under all-star teams from the Kilgore Boys Baseball Association all play in tournaments this weekend – the 9 and 10-year-olds play their tournaments in Henderson; the 12U plays its tournament in Carthage.

This year’s 9-U all-stars are Blade Chitwood, Kaeson Clayton, Kason Henry, Jaxon Herrin, Lucas Gage Nelson, Axel Drake Sipes, Kellen Michael Smith, Devin Tinney, Davis Randall Wayne Tryon, Gavin Shane Wall, Jarred Allen Westerman and Chase Michael Wilcox. Joey Chitwood is the team’s head coach, and he’s assisted by Danny Henry and Eric Smith.

The 10-U’s are coached by Michael Rich, James Mercer and Nick Sanders. They are Brodey Glen Benson, Salvador Refugio Cervantes, LaKeyleon Demetrius Graves, Brayden Matthew Hargrove, Ethan James Kirk, James Talmadge Mercer, Clayton David Pendergast, Parker Owen Phillips, Jaxon Alden Rich, Dre’Nicholas Sanders, Trent Allan Turley, and Isaiah Christopher Watters.

Players for the 12-U team are De’Marion Brown, Zevin Dent, Eduardo Chavez Espinosa, Cutter Gaudet, Joseph Mack Hendrickson, Blake Jarrett Kelley, Jason Chance Kirk, Connor Pendergast, Zachery Paul Rowland, Cole Steele, Wesley Hayden Trebing and Bransin Lee Waller. Robert Waller, Jason Brewer and Keon Pendergast are the team’s coaches.

Tournament play is over for the KBBA’s youngest all-star teams.

The 6-and-under teams both played here in Kilgore last weekend; both won their first two, then lost their second two.

The 6-U KBBA Red all-stars are Blayne Conway, LaMarion Cortez Dunn, Aryanna Jo Edlund, Brenyn Michael Evans, Arturo Moises Fierros, Ryan Drake Johnson, Jr., Waylon Joe Ligon, Cruz Davon Moore, Deacon Tate Nash, Wyatt Caisen Sims, Aiden Alexander Vasquez and Brayden Lee Wheeler. Richard Nash, Barry Conway, Donterio Moore and William Chase Sims are coaches.

Playing for this year’s 6-U White all-stars were Kash Neil Dixon, Journi Elizabeth Flesher, Miles Landry Gaut, Preston Eugene Gill, Weldon Calvin Hunt, Jr., A’Braylen LaDale King, Camden Owen Patterson, Griffin Lee Richard, Landon William Rowe, Cody Dewayne Shead, Jr., Judson Griffin Swaim, and Ava Marie Elizabeth Wilkerson. Coaching the team were Randy Gaut, Dustin Swaim, Lance Rowe and John Dixon.

The 8-and-under teams both played their tournaments in Carthage; the 8-U White lost its two games, while the Red won Friday and Saturday, but lost twice Sunday.

The 8-U White all-stars this year were Rafello Miller Adamez, Carson Cash Bailey, Kaedyn Weldon Bell, Ryder Dean Edmonson, Tyler James Edmonson, Kashton Craig Haynes, Jaylon Deshawn Hooks, Blaine Mitchell Jordan, Chad Leslie Loper, Jr., Ian Michael Meadows, Carter Adam Moore and Case James Pieper. David Cody Edmonson, Gary Adam Moore, Chad Loper and Bobby Bell were the team’s coaches.

The 8-U Red all-stars were Miles Gavin Applegate, Gunnar Wayne Barnhart, Aryan Zane Edlund, Reed James Edmonson, Amdyn Cole Evans, Chase Allen Foster, Braddox Kohl Johnson, Champ Monaghan, Maverix Don Rivers, Keion Tate Sanders, Ja’Kaivian Mareaco Snow, and Maddox Avery Wright. Mike Johnson, Joe Monaghan, Bryan Barnhart and Ben Applegate coached the team.
