KC’s Rosario all-conference, all-region

Mgbeike, Idoko also part of all-conference; Rangers’ Brown among men’s honorees


Emely Rosario led Kilgore College’s Lady Rangers in scoring and played a huge role in their success this season, and now she’s being recognized as one of the best players in the Region XIV Conference.

Rosario, a sophomore from the Bronx, N.Y., was named to the All-Region and All-Conference teams, and was also named as a part of the All-Tournament team from the conference’s tournaments, played recently at Centenary College in Shreveport.

Rosario averaged 14 ½ points per game. Also named to the All-Conference team for KC were Sarah Mgbeike and Patience Idoko; Idoko who was named All-Conference honorable mention.

The Lady Rangers finished 22-9 this season, the first for head coach Addie Lees.

For the Rangers, sophomore Demiere Brown of Powder Springs, Ga., was named second-team All-Conference, and his teammates, Jordyn Owens, Rodrigue Tha Andela and Darrian Grays were all named All-Conference honorable mention.

Coach Brian Hoberecht’s Rangers went 19-12 this season, and upset Blinn in the first round of the conference tournament.
