KILGORE SENIOR CITIZENS

President Sally Melton opened the Aug. 22 meeting of the Kilgore Senior Citizens Club with the Pledge of Allegiance. Cliff Kennedy gave the prayer for the meeting and the meal.

Debbie Moore, secretary, read minutes from last meeting which were approved as read.

Gloria Kennedy, treasurer, gave the treasury report. It was approved for audit.

Sunshine Lady Stella Morris had everyone sign a card to send to Irene Reid. Birthdays for August are Judy Irving and Katherine Miller.

Entertainment for this meeting was bingo. Carolyn Mangum, activity director from Arbor Grace, called bingo and handed out gift cards to winners. Winners were Billy Brown, Mary Ann McDonald, Katherine Miller, Nita Woodcock, Stella Morris and Merlean Thompson.

Door prize was won by Ginger Anglin.

Chicken strips were served for lunch with other side dishes and desserts.

Some members stayed after the meeting to play dominoes and/or Mexican train. Everyone is welcome to play.

The Senior Citizens Club are always looking for new members. Dues are $3 per year.

There were 20 members and zero guests in attendance.

Everyone 55 and over is welcome to attend meetings and enjoy the fellowship and entertainment. The next meeting will be September 12 at the Lions Club building, 307 N Rusk St. A short business meeting is held at 11:15 a.m. and then either bingo or guest entertainment is at 11:30. Dinner is at noon, with adjournment at 12:45.
