THE CLEMENTS family is at it again… they’ve donated more money to Kilgore College.

MIKE has donated $45,000 for three scholarships to the school’s culinary arts program, a program important to his family… his daughter-in-law Kate will graduate with a KC culinary arts degree next month and Mike made the donation in memory of his late wife, Amy. (Yes, Mike and Amy met while at KC in the ‘70s.)

LAST year the Clements family, owners of Energy Weld-Fab, donated a 1929 Mack ice truck to the East Texas Oil Museum; the truck is in a weather-proof display outside the museum on the college campus. A year earlier, in 2016, they donated $25,000 toward the construction of the softball field, The Ballpark at KC Commons. In 2015, Mike and Amy were inducted into the KC Athletics Hall of Fame.

MIKE tells us he has more gifts in mind.

BILLIE Mims – a graduate of Jacksonville High School, Texas Tech and a long list of banking schools – has been named senior vice president at Austin Bank. She was part of the banking team at City National when Austin bought the company in 2008.

BILLIE (it’s true her husband is named Billy) is active in Kilgore: she is a Junior Achievement volunteer and treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce, attends St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she has served on multiple committees and assisted with youth and children’s activities, and is a life member of the Texas Parent Teacher Association through Kilgore ISD. This is in addition to years of service with Xi Alpha Delta Omega and Xi Pi Mu Chapters of Beta Sigma Phi, the Kilgore Boys and Girls Club, East Texas Builders Association and American Business Women’s Association.

KENT Bryson, president of Austin Bank in Kilgore, also got a promotion. He’s now senior vice president and president of the bank’s north rural region. He’s responsible for lending at Austin Bank locations in Kilgore, Gladewater, Big Sandy, Emory, Grand Saline and Van.

Kent is a past director of Kilgore Chamber of Commerce and is on the board of the Kilgore College Foundation and the investment committee for Gregg County.
