“April is the cruellest month.”

WE can only assume some sneak bit the ears off the poet’s chocolate bunny.

GO back in the archives, and you’ll see all the times we’ve spelled the name K Castles. Each was well-earned, as was the First Lady of Kilgore honor she picked up Friday night.

THAT said, from her biography we now know the full name’s Kay Lynne Cunningham Castles. All these years, we thought it was a Harry S (no period) Truman situation.

WHETHER K, Kay or Que , congratulations.

WELCOME to the world, Max Selleck.

(IF, somehow, you haven’t made it by the time this goes to press, get a move on. Some of us have print deadlines, young man.)

GET involved: Sabine ISD residents, your school board meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Kilgore College constituents, the trustees will gather in the McLaurin admin building next week too, also at 6:30 p.m. April 8. The City of Kilgore’s elected officials are set for their next regularly-scheduled meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WE’LL see you there.

THANKS to our friends and colleagues at North East Texas Press Association who honored former Kilgore News Herald Co-Publishers Bill & Jessica Woodall Thursday evening in Tyler.

A pod of whales. A murder of crows. A committee of vultures. A school of fish.

ALL that considered... Would it be a probable cause of reporters? An inkling of journalists?

HAS anyone recently come across those chocolate-dipped marshmallow eggs that are packaged in a typical Styrofoam carton? Asking for a friend…

“What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”
