Reynolds in all-star game Saturday

Recently-graduated Kilgore High School infielder Ren Reynolds will play for the Bulldogs one more time this weekend. Reynolds was one of the elite high school baseball players chosen to play in the annual Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association’s All-Star Game.

The game will be played Saturday at noon at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, home of the Round Rock Express. The game has often had Kilgore players: Reynolds goes this year, a part of the 2A-3A- 4A’s North all-stars. Former teammate Collin Pippen played in the game for KHS last year.

Reynolds will be coached by Brad Harmon of Monahans. Only a few other players from East Texas are in the game; Beckville’s Trey Lindsey, New Diana’s Jacob Burton, and White Oak’s Heath Hood.

Reynolds, who signed with Frontier (Ill.) College a couple of months ago, finished the season with 52 hits in 112 at-bats in the 33 games Kilgore played. He had 18 RBI, scored 44 runs, had a .464 average and a .527 on-base percentage.
