LC tops Longview Christian in sweep
Most Kilgore-area volleyball programs were to open their 2018 season this week.
Kilgore, for example, was to open Tuesday night at Nacogdoches. But that game was to conclude after the print deadline for this issue of the News Herald.
See kilgorenewsherald.com right now for an update on how the Lady ‘Dogs did at Nac, and hopefully others, like Mineola at Sabine, Elysian Fields at West Rusk and Trinity School of Texas at Leverett’s Chapel.
LC won its season opener, beating Longview Christian in a seep, 25-18, 25-22, 25-20, on Monday.
Coaches Rickey and Patty Hammontree got eight kills, three digs, two blocks and an ace from Jillian Shaw. Yesenia Avalos had eight digs, two kills and two aces, and Michelle Jamaica had eight aces. Cynthia Taredas had eight assists.
LC (1-0) was to host Trinity on Tuesday.
