CROSS-COUNTRY
Local athletes in state meet today

Cross-country runners from both Kilgore High School and Sabine High School will compete in the UIL state cross-country meet today at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Kilgore High will be represented by sophomore Cristina Rosas, the only KHS Lady Bulldog to return to the state meet after the entire team went a year ago. Rosas finished fourth overall in regionals. She’ll compete in the girls 4A run, a 3,200-meter run.
Sabine High’s boys will have two runners: sophomore David Robinson, and junior Saniel Acosta. Robinson and Acosta will both be in the boys 3A run, a 5K. Robinson was first overall in his region, and Acosta was 10th.
The state meet begins with the girls 6A run at 8:30 a.m. The boys 3A run is scheduled to begin at 12:40 p.m.; the girls 4A run will directly follow, around 1:20.
The UIL will live-stream the event, beginning at 8:30 a.m., on nfhsnetwork.com/associations/uil.
