Mass of the Christian Burial for Marian Griffin, 85, of Kilgore will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Very Reverend John Gomez, JCL officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Griffin died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Kilgore.
She was born December 24, 1932 in Shreveport, La., to Cecile and Al Grush Sr. Marian’s family moved to East Texas in 1945. She graduated from New London High School. Mrs. Griffin was a Catholic and a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She enjoyed designing flowers and dog grooming, especially poodles. Mrs. Griffin was a proud Texas Rangers fan. She was a true humanitarian and enjoyed baking for others. She was a loving mother and grandmother who raised her grandchildren.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her children, Jennifer Reece and her husband Eric of Kilgore, Mark Griffin and his wife Renita of White Oak, Jeremy Griffin of Kilgore, Vincent Slaughter of Kilgore; brother, Al Grush Jr. and his wife Mary of Kilgore; grandchildren, Clayton Griffin, Laura Mercer, Mark Griffin Jr., Desiree Hoskins, Nicholas Hoskins, Josiah Hoskins, Elizabeth Hoskins, Ashton Reece and Elishia Turner; numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Frankie Griffin, her husband of 58 years, Frank Griffin and her son, Kenneth Griffin.
A rosary will be recited 5 p.m. Friday evening at Rader Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. following the rosary.
