A devoted husband, beloved father, and faithful friend, Pete Godfrey passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Family and friends will celebrate his incredible life on Friday, August 11, at 10 a.m. at his church home of First Baptist Church of Kilgore. Dr. Glenn Young and Dr. Pete Freeman will officiate.
Pete was born August 17, 1953 in Texarkana to Peter Evart and Betty Ann Godfrey. He grew up in Houston alongside his sister Barbara, before joining the United States Navy in 1974. Together they have three daughters. Pete loved his Saturdays on the golf course, hunting trips with his buddies, and family vacations with his wife and girls. Pete rooted for his Texas Rangers every season and was a fervent history buff.
