Services for Virginia Grey "Gay" Law Culp, 94, of Henderson, were held July 20, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Kilgore with Reverend Will Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Lakewood Cemetery, Henderson, Texas. Mrs. Culp died at her home, Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
Virginia was born December 18, 1923 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Hoyt J. and Jewell Irene Law. Their family moved to Kilgore, Texas in 1931. She was a 1940 graduate of Kilgore High School, and in the fall of 1940 she made the first line of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Gay married Fred C. Culp, Jr. May 20, 1943 and they made their home in Henderson, Texas. The Culps owned and operated Henderson Coca-Cola Bottling Company where Virginia loved her time as the office manager. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson and enjoyed knitting. Gay was especially proud of being on the first line of the Rangerettes and her time with Rangerettes Forever.
Mrs. Culp is survived by her sons, James Lynn Culp of Henderson, Randy Culp and his wife Misty of Henderson; grandchildren, Matthew Law Culp and his wife Gwen of Lake Tyler, Texas, Chelsea Grey Culp of Henderson and Dylan Culp of Henderson.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore, Thursday evening between 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
