Wedrell “Wedge’’ Alman


Mr. Wedrell “Wedge’’ Ezra Alman, 88, a relative of Lindale residents and who was heavily involved in Youth With A Mission died Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Lindale following an extended illness.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1929, in Butte, Mont., to Wedrell Ezra Alman and Mary Hardaway and was reared in Atlanta, Ga. He graduated from Boys High School in Atlanta and attended Georgia Tech University.

Mr. Alman met his wife Shirley while in the Missionary Aviation course at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.

Survivors include Shirley Jacqueline (Campbell) Alman; son Robert Wedrell Alman of Castaic, Calf.; daughter Crystal Ann Morse and son John Brenton of Lindale.

In 1965 he and his wife, Shirley, became involved in foreign missionary work when Loren Cunningham, the founder and director of YWAM. They moved to the Lindale-area campus in 2013.
