Celebration of Life services for William “Bill” Raymond Johns, 76, of Kilgore will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. Mr. Johns passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, in Tyler.
Mr. Johns was born July 28, 1941 to the late Paul Raymond Johns and Lena Louise Smith in Longview. He served in the United States Army. Bill worked in the East Texas Oil Fields for more than 61 years, working for Woolley Tool, Inc. for 40 years. He was a confident, dependable and hard working employee who took pride in his job. Bill enjoyed horse racing, watching football, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by the family, friends and co-workers he leaves behind.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonya Johns; son, Greg Johns and wife Sebina; five grandchildren, Jasmine Johns, Moriah Cummins and husband Aaron, Serenity Johns, Hosanna Johns and Eliania Johns; four great-grandchildren, as well as many other loving family and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Johns and Louise Smith Cassidy, and the mother of his daughter, Lois Johns.
